With the festive season in the air, ’tis the time to dress up. Here is a fun and festive look to inspire you and get you excited about the holidays.
It is pretty easy to guess that I love dresses and just need any or as many excuses to wear them. And I love them in all colors – Be it red, green or sparkles. This is one of my favorite dresses for December. A drop-waist dress is the ultimate fall/winter dress. I love how versatile it is. It is great for both casual and more dressed up occasions, and by tweaking the shoes and accessories, it can be styled to fit a range of personal styles. Go from glam to classic, preppy to edgy or keep it clean and minimal. So much to play with.
This short and rich burgundy dress is effortless and fun. Top it with one of your current favorite structured jackets, some tights and heels and you are ready for a fun time.
I also love that it’s tights season now. It is fun to play dress-up with the wide variety of styles and designs available in stores now, especially this vine design. When paired with this solid colored dress it adds texture and print-like effect to the whole look. One of the other cool trends to try over fall is wearing your open-toed sandals and pumps with some dark colored tights or socks. Here, I picked a strappy sandal (last seen here) to complete this outfit as it gives an edge to the simplicity of this dress, making the entire look more playful. When styling a simple solid-colored dress for a fun night time look, try and pair it with more textures, heavy details and busy prints such as my leopard print clutch (see more of this leopard clutch pairings here and here). This gives you a merrymaking identity.
